Since 1979, the Dartford & District Irish Association Golf Society (DDIA) has been nurturing some of the finest golf talent to have ever picked up sticks to whack a little white ball around the countryside in search of an elusive hole that never seems quite big enough. We have graced some of the best and worst courses in the South of England and occasionally further afield. Honing a collective athletic prowess, numeracy skills and ability to laugh at ourselves we’re proud to welcome golfers of all ability. We have all caught the golfing bug and share a love for the game that makes it easy to forget the bad shots and concentrate on the good ones no matter how few and far between. A bad day on the course is always better than a good day in the office.
Welcome to the DDIA Golf Society
Who are we and what do we do?
The DDIA Golf Society takes golf seriously. Well as serious as we take anything. Some of us even know the rules. You name it, Stingers, Flop shots, High Fades, Low Draws, Driver off the Deck, Bump and Run...these are just some of the shots our members have in their locker. Knowing when they will appear is another matter. Okay so we may not be that serious but we are dedicated to making the DDIA as inclusive and fun as golf can be so that our members enjoy their golf and want to keep coming back to play. When scheduling allows we meet to play on a monthly basis and run inter-society Singles and Doubles knock-out competitions. Throw in a Captains Day, away day and the occasional Social and our Calendar is full.
If you know your bacon and cabbage, grew up with a sacred heart of Jesus plate on the wall, can sing a quick chorus of The Fields of Athenry, have cousins you forget about, love a bag of Tayto crisps and if you are here for the craic then this might just be the golf society for you. If all of the above means nothing to you but you love golf and can stand a round at the bar and are based in and around the Dartford area then get in touch to join us via the contacts page.
